July 19: Commerce, GA - Richmond, VA

Jonathan's birthday!  We celebrated before we left, so he wasn't too disappointed that he was spending his day in the car.  We let him pick a place for dinner.

By now, the kids had the morning routine down.  Get up, get dressed, pack up the room, down to hotel breakfast, pack the car, and on the road!  We had a much better drive and made good time.

We knew Georgia was famous for peaches, but apparently
South Carolina really likes them, too!

Happy children at our lunch stop.

We made it to Richmond in time for dinner and were able to meet up with my friend from college, Courtney.  We realized with horror that we hadn't seen each other since before Emily was born, so the visit was well overdue!  We had a great time catching up and reminiscing (although Emily and Jonathan felt a little left out).

Courtney and me with her cute daughter Siena on our laps.
Abigail is trying to squeeze in behind us.
After lots of talking, it was time to put everyone to bed so we could finish the longest part of the drive for the whole trip!
