June 20: Richmond, VA - Philadelphia, PA

The hotel where we stayed in Richmond was next door to a diner, so they sent their guests there for breakfast.  After a huge and yummy breakfast (the pancakes were bigger than the kids' faces!) we were ready to get on the road for the last leg of this part of the trip.

Crossing into Maryland.

Everyone was fascinated by the idea of driving UNDER
the harbor.

In the tunnel.

We're finally in Pennsylvania!
Driving into Philadelphia.

Looking across into New Jersey.

The Philadelphia skyline from a distance.
The GPS was having trouble keeping up with the crazy Philadelphia roads, so it took us a little while and a bit of a round about to get to Rachel's apartment, but we finally found it.  We spent the rest of the day relaxing at Rachel's.  The kids especially enjoyed playing with (torturing?) Kitty, who didn't know quite what to make of all the attention from the little people.

Abby especially loved Kitty and wanted to pet her ALL the time.
Rachel made us a delicious dinner, then we headed to our hotel in King of Prussia.  Let the Philadelphia adventure begin!
